SHORT BIOGRAPHY

Iby-Jolande Varga's animated films and multimedia works are centered around the objects she designs.
Using stop-motion and digital techniques, she crafts self-contained cinematic worlds, each of which can be inherently distinct from the others. She believes in the significance of maintaining a playful lightness, even when dealing with the most intricate projects.
Having pursued music studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, Iby-Jolande Varga brings her background in fine arts to her artistic endeavors. Concepts and structural ideas drawn from the realm of music serve as vital wellsprings of inspiration in her creations.
Iby-Jolande Varga works as a freelancer for a wide array of private and public clients and institutions within the design and multimedia domain.

ARTISTIC STATEMENT

MUSICOSMICA is a very personal project of mine, a hidden clue is the name of the protagonist – Edna Loy – inspired by the inversion of my own - Jolande.
When I got a pianino at the age of 9, the very first tinkling made me feel as if I had been transported to a new universe. These playful attempts were to depict a thunderstorm or other sonic or visual phenomena that I loved.
During my school years and then, of course, through my music studies, I came into contact with the world of music theory, with a mysterious world of principles that are at the same time deeply connected with all aspects of life.
With MUSICOSMICA, a fairy tale formed in my imagination, which connects the various aspects of music with those of life. The love story thus created is at the same time an attempt to say something about the profoundness of music.
